Described by Horse & Hound Magazine as “One of Eventing’s more Colourful Characters”, Wayne Garrick was born and bred in Germany before moving to England (the Lake District) when he was eight years old. He was quickly bitten by the ‘Horse bug’, bought his first pony at the age of 14 and has never looked back.

Wayne combines producing young horses with eventing at a high level. He has ridden at 3* Level BE competing in Germany and England with two home produced horses and has competed at many prestigious events including Bramham and Blenheim.

Wayne specialises in difficult horses because he “believes every horse deserves a happy and useful life”. His “keep it simple”, common sense approach works well with horses with a difficult past and this simple approach and a focus on getting the basics right fits perfectly with the Smart Horse philosophy.
